Dr Victoria Foster PhD
Vicky graduated in applied biology from the Nottingham Trent University and then undertook a PhD at Rothamsted Research in cereal pathology. Working in one of the oldest and most renowned agricultural research organisations in the world was both inspiring and humbling and this drove her passion for more applied science that could make a difference on farm.
Vicky joined the British Beet Research Organisation (BBRO) in 2018, where she took up the position of Head of BBRO. BBRO is a levy funded organisation providing sugar beet growers and wider industry with the resources required to grow a healthy and profitable sugar beet crop in the UK. Prior to joining BBRO, Vicky spent 15 years with the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) where she worked across all six AHDB sectors to drive further change, bringing the sectors into more alignment over commissioning new research and KE activities and reduce duplication, thus, providing more cost benefit for levy payers. Her former years specialised in managing the research programme for the cereals and oilseeds sector with HGCA as it was at the time.
